Ruth Ware, author of the very popular Woman in Cabin 10 and The Lying Game, returns with yet another tense and suspenseful novel.  Harriet Westaway, known as Hal, receives a letter stating that her grandmother has left her an inheritance but Hal knows that it is a case of mistaken identity.  Hal owes a lot of money to some dangerous people so she decides to use her skills as a fortune teller to “cash in” on this mistake.  But when she arrives to claim her inheritance, something is not right and Hal begins to suspect that the letter sent to her was no accident.  Is Hal playing the Westaways, or is she really the pawn in this strange situation?

Another long-standing master of suspense, Stephen King, also delivers an unsettling story with his newest title, The Outsider.  An eleven year old boy’s violated body is found in the Town park and all evidence points to Flint City’s most popular citizen, little league coach and teacher Terry Maitland.   As the investigation continues, it appears that Terry Maitland may not be the good guy as everyone thinks.   As the suspense unfolds, the truth is shocking.

James Patterson brings us the next title in his Private series, following Count to Ten.  In this outing, Jack Morgan receives an invitation to meet Princess Caroline, third in line to the British throne, so he immediately heads to London.  It turns out that the princess needs Jack’s skills to help her locate her missing friend, Sophie Edwards, before the media become aware of the situation.  Jack realizes that there is more to the case than he is being told, but what is the princess really hiding?

To round out this suspenseful month, Nora Roberts brings us Shelter in place.  A terrible mall shooting occurs in Portland Maine which only lasts eight minutes but irreparably destroys many lives forever. Many of the survivors find different ways to deal with the trauma but one person isn’t satisfied with the shockingly high death toll at the DownEast Mall. And as the survivors slowly heal, find shelter, and rebuild, they will discover that another conspirator is lying in wait–and this time, there might be nowhere safe to hide.
