Odd & True by Cat Winters; a fictional world full of fantasy and adventure. Ms. Winters did an extraordinary job as she allows us to follow along on a unique, never before heard of adventure, through the point of view of both main characters, Odette (Od) M. Grey and Trudchen (Tru) Grey Blue. I enjoyed reading this novel as it gave me a chance to venture back to my childhood, where I believed in monsters. Reading this novel, it allows one to feel the magic as if you’re experiencing the adventure yourself. I loved how we followed first Tru as we looked for their mother and the Leeds Devil, then in the following chapter we followed Od as we discovered the secrets of their past. The book also had plenty of plot twists to keep readers on their toes!
Although I am insanely in love with this book, there are still some small things I would have tweaked. For example, I would have loved seeing the conversations that happened between some of the characters at key moments in the book, but instead, the author decided to switch to another person’s perspective. Overall though, this book was phenomenal, giving outstanding detail and containing an unbelievable story line, one I never wish to forget. This is a story I truly wish I could be a part of, and I hope that there will be a sequel. I was absolutely devastated when the book came to end and it hurts even more to have to give this book back. As amazing as the book was, unfortunately, all good things must come to an end.
