From Books to the Small Screen

While we are used to the idea of books being turned into movies, in this “new golden age of television” you might be surprised to learn how many of your favourite, or soon-to-be favourite, TV shows and series originated as books. Whether it’s a graphic novel turned TV series (Walking Dead) or an epic fantasy book series (A Song of Ice and Fire) or simply the TV adaptation of a single book (Big Little Lies), TV has tapped into book inspiration like never before.  To the dismay of movie producers, the financing, acting talent, cinematic techniques and the interest of viewers have all turned to television.  Let’s face it, a really good story has more time to develop over a TV series and you can live in your favourite world for weeks, months or even years.  When you find yourself in that cold dark lonely place anxiously waiting for the next season to start, why not grab the book that inspired the show:
